From Love into Love

Where is it all going? From love into Love. From our human understanding of love into God's understanding and experience of love. God is teaching us how to live as children of God. How to love as God loves. What that love is like. "God is working in us," wrote Julian of Norwich, "helping us to thank and trust and enjoy him." At the end of her book, "Showings" or "Revelations of Divine Love" she came to the conclusion that God was saying, "I am the foundation of your praying". God is the One who enables us to pray. God prays in us.

"From the time these things were first revealed I had often wanted to know what was our Lord's meaning. It was more than fifteen years after that I was answered in my spirit's understanding. 'You would know our Lord's meaning in this thing? Know it well. Love was his meaning. Who showed it you? Love. What did he show you? Love. Why did he show it? For love. Hold onto this and you will know and understand love more and more."

There may be many kinds of love, but there is only one kind of love that is truly Christian, and that is unconditional love, unlimited love. Love that never ends. This is the love that Paul described in 1 Corinthians 13, saying that it "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

We have come from God and we are going to God.
We are living from love, not fear.

We belong to God, who loves us,
We will live with God forever.

We belong to God, who created us for abundance,
And so all the earth will be changed.

We belong to God, who is alive in us and in our midst,
Wherever we are, and whenever we live.

We belong to God, who has given us a dream
To share with all creation.

We belong to God, who has filled our hands
With all we need for what we are called to do.
We belong to God, who keeps faith with us,
And so all we value is safe in God's keeping.

We belong to God, who walks with us
Through life and death to eternity.

We have come from God and we are going to God.
We are travelling from love into Love.
